David Parkin is an experienced host, compere and chairman of events ranging from business conferences for 1,000 people to high level corporate round table discussions to sports and charity dinners. As a high profile figure in the business community he has built unrivalled contacts and regularly features as a presenter and commentator on major business stories on national TV and radio.
David launched TheBusinessDesk.com in November 2007 expanding into the North West and West Midlands and launching a series of successful business events. David sold his stake in TheBusinessDesk.com in July 2013 and became a consultant to the business until January 2015 when he left to launch COPA Events.
He was Business Editor of the Yorkshire Post from 2000 to 2007, responsible for its award-winning business pages. He expanded the newspaper’s business coverage to include two weekly broadsheet supplements and high profile business events.
With over twenty years in the events industry, Liz has organised a whole host of different events. From breakfasts to lunches, awards dinners, charity dinners, conferences, high-level summits, away-days, golf days she has experience of organising a whole host of different events both in the UK and overseas. With a knowledge of what works and what doesn’t Liz will work with you to ensure that your vision becomes a reality!
Prior to joining COPA, Liz worked for many years managing events for the British Council of Shopping Centres (now revocommunity.org) in London. She moved to Harrogate in 2010, and has worked for a number of different organisations including the Yorkshire Agricultural Society and the Harrogate Mumbler.
Andrea has organised a wide range of events in her twenty years experience in the events industry. Ranging from a 10 person Key Opinion Leader Meeting to a 2000 person Tesco Managers meeting in Birmingham and everything in between.
Before joining the team Andrea worked for World Event Management (now Ashfield Meetings & Events) and was involved predominately in the pharmaceutical industry as well as managing other key accounts such as Chanel and Tesco.
Dan is the executive director of panacea investment group. He is the former Northern Regional Sales Director for the invoice finance business of British challenger bank Aldermore.
He joined Aldermore from ABN AMRO, where he was Sales Director for the Yorkshire and North East regions for 10 years.
Steve is involved in a wide range of businesses and is Chairman of quoted group Northern Bear plc.
He qualified as a chartered accountant with KPMG in 1991 prior to specialising in corporate finance. Steve left KPMG to join Yorkshire Fund Managers as an investment manager following a period of secondment before joining McInnes Corporate Finance as a Director in 1996.
He joined Begbies Traynor Group following the sale of McInnes in 2005 before leaving to pursue interim and non-executive roles among other business interests. Steve is a founding member of corporate finance advisory firm Sentio Partners.
